Samini and VIP To Grace Eid-ul Fitr
It is quite uncommon to see all the hot artistes in the country performing on the same platform.
Come Saturday October 13, Batman Samini, VIP and other popular artistes would converge on the Nima High Street to give music fans appealing renditions at a show dubbed SALAFEST, to mark the Eid-ul Fitr celebrations.
The occasion is to foster religious and social harmony in all Muslim denominations.
The programme, organized by Vibe FM in collaboration with the Council of Muslim and Northern Zongo Chiefs would be sponsored by Voice of America, the public Affairs Unit of the American Embassy and MTN.
In attendance would be His Excellency Alhaji Aliu Mahama, who would be the special guest and other government officials as well as traditional leaders.
According to a release issued on Wednesday, different groups from Niger, Mali, Benin, Chad and Nigeria would join in the celebration.
The activities, scheduled to start at 2pm, would take off with the chief of Nima, Nii Futa I, handing over horses as custom demands to various community chiefs amid drumming, singing and dancing from various cultural groups.
That would also involve representatives from the sub-region who are expected to exhibit rich and colourful culture.
The other artistes on the bill are Sidney, Tic Tac, FBS and Buk Bak, with Reggie Rockstone and Black Santino of Vibe FM as the MCs.
