The GHANA MUSIC AWARDS is a prestigious and eventful award ceremony to honour deserving Ghanaian Musicians who produced recognize songs that fall within the academic calendar of the Ghana Music Awards. An entire evening dedicated to the recognition of those whose lives are dedicated to providing the public with entertainment, either on the stage, or through their published music.

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATIONS

• Airplay on and off Radio
• Sales from (cassette distributions and retailers) for music related awards.
• Technical view of selection committee for Industry Awards

DISQUALIFICATION
All songs with x-rated and violent lyrics will be disqualified from nominations lists.

Ghana Music Awards Organization
The GMA Organisation made up of a team of dilgent professionals and practitiners in music, media, advertising and event management industries.

It is a people’s choice awards scheme that seeks to foster the development of the Ghanaian music industry – thus rewarding those in the industry who have excelled in the five main music genres of Ghana; Gospel, Hip-life, Highlife, Reggae and Traditional. The event is also to appreciate those musicians who have released work within the period of contention.

In this cause, the awards ceremony stands as the only platform on which Ghanaian musicians measure their strengths and weaknesses each year. The Ghana Music Awards also serves as an inspiration to Ghanaian musicians – thus giving them reason to perform better and aim at being recognized in the next Awards.
