Sykes [MIG]: How long have you been into?
Kaesun: Since about age 5. I wrote my first song when I was in grade 2-no kidding- I don’t remember how good it was- I just remember family members laughing when I performed it. I viewed music more as a career opportunity when I moved to Canada, before then it was mostly a hobby.
Sykes [MIG]: How do you cope with your career, profession and family? (Are your people supportive or do they try to make you lose interest? )
Kaesun: At this moment its straight music 24/7– I will let you know when that changes.
Sykes [MIG]: How did u get into music?
Kaesun: Growing up I always had access to instruments such as the guitar, keyboards, drums.I experimented with these a lot as well as being intrigued by hip-hop culture and music. I always had the desire to express myself, writing music gave me a voice and the avenue to channel my thoughts and emotions.

Kaesun: Reading,Writing and the obvious.
Sykes [MIG]: What kind of music do you listen to?
Kaesun: Meaningful music in all genres.
Sykes [MIG]: How do you see Music in Ghana at the moment?
Kaesun: Theres lots of talent out there naturally, and we need to encourage our young ones to be as original as possible and make music that is thematically substantial as opposed to being tempted to copy negative musical trends such as the obscene lyricism in hiphop music today. Musicians in Ghana and Africa as a whole need to realize that they are the voices that give hope to the millions of afflicted individuals on the continent, so i hope Ghanaian artists will take the inetiative to use music as mode of uplifting our people. If we can do that naturally God will bless us with more funds, exposure and international support, i have no doubts about that. ………………………………….
Sykes [MIG]: Finally, what do you have to say to the guys out there who want to do music and to your fans?
Kaesun: Keep the dream alive, its hard work, be dedicated and disciplined. To my fans, I hope you get the most out of my music. To all who want to do music, keep moving on cus the road is a long one. |
