Mzbel Switches to Dipo

MzbelMUSIC DIVA, Mzbel, otherwise known as Nana Akua Amoah seems to be having more surprises for her admirers after reports that she would be tying the knot with one Leke, a British-born Nigerian and proprietor of a cable television network in London, in December this year.

The hiplife queen who has been raped twice in her musical career, said she was putting an end to the wearing of Western bikinis which had over the years attracted public criticisms.

“When I perform in Western costumes, many people criticize that it is not African. I want to put an end to all that. I have changed my style. I’m now going the African way and I have chosen the ‘dipo’ because my mom is a Krobo,” said Mzbel.

Her comments came after Bola Ray asked her last Saturday on TV3’s Music Music, why she decided to wear a ‘dipo’ outfit to perform on the programme; She got on stage wearing something more or less like a morning coat but after a short while she removed it to reveal the “dipo” outfit underneath.

Mzbel’s performance that night, according to one of her numerous fans who Beatwaves spoke to, said “Mzbel’s performances lacked the energy expected of her. She is growing too fat. She should trim her tummy.

Her performances can be likened to that of Britney Spears so-called comeback gigs during the MTV Base Awards night.”
Mzbel’s video on her new album has started showing on TV.

Unfortunately she is not dressed in the ‘dipo’ outfit as she hinted on Music Music.

May be the wearing of the dipo outfit would only be applicable when she is performing on stage.
